“I try to lead by being empathetic to others — trying to see myself, as much as possible, in their situations to understand the issues that they are going through. I believe in empowering students and trainees to make their own decisions, which can sometimes include mistakes, as the mistakes are where much of the learning and growth can happen. It seems obvious, but I believe that caring about others is what makes for a good mentorship connection.”
