Professor Kara’s leadership statement

“I lead a research group of amazing graduate students, postdocs and undergrads at MIT. They are hard-working, creative and kind people, who are growing in to the next generation of leaders in astronomy. I feel proud of both the work that they do, and the way that they do it, bringing a generous spirit of teamwork and collaboration to what they do, while each also developing their own distinct expertise. I believe in propping up both the individual and their place in the community. That is what mentorship is all about to me.”
