Professor Zhang’s leadership statement

“I aim to create an environment where students have the freedom to explore their ideas and grow into independent thinkers, while knowing that guidance and support are always available. I see myself primarily as a helper — someone who asks thoughtful questions, and supports students as they develop confidence and ownership of their work.

My approach has been deeply influenced by my PhD and postdoctoral advisors and by colleagues who showed me that true commitment to students’ success ultimately strengthens the entire community. When we invest fully in our students, their success becomes our shared success.”
