REFS 

Graduate student group that provides peer support for all graduate students across the Institute. REFS is comprised of graduate students who undergo a 40 hour training in conflict management at MIT. REFS members can make informed referrals to other resources and offices at MIT.

Mental health support

MIT Student Mental Health and Counseling

MIT Medical’s Student Mental Health and Counseling Services works with individual students to identify, understand, and solve problems, and to help transform that understanding into positive action.

Ongoing support groups are also available for MIT students, including graduate student- and identity-specific groups. 

Other group topics include a Journaling Workshop, ADHD Information and Skill Group, Grief Support Group, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) & Self-Compassion Toolkit.
