The Harvard-MIT Program in Health Sciences and Technology (HST) brings together MIT, Harvard Medical School (HMS), Harvard University, and Boston area teaching hospitals in a unique collaboration that integrates science, medicine and engineering to solve problems in human health. At MIT, the Institute for Medical Engineering and Science (IMES) provides a robust home for HST.
HST offers degree programs that focus on varied aspects of engineering and the biomedical sciences:
- Medical Engineering and Medical Physics (MEMP PhD) program leads to the PhD or ScD degree from MIT or the Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences.
- Medical Sciences (HST MD) program leads to the MD degree from Harvard Medical School.
HST also offers the Graduate Education in Medical Sciences (GEMS) certificate program for doctoral students in MIT’s Schools of Engineering and Science.
