Biography
Mark Blakemore Jr. was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. He is a rising senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in architecture at Tuskegee University. During his current tenure at Tuskegee University, Mark is a member of the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMAS), American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS), and National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS). He is the founder and president of the Skegee Run Club at Tuskegee University and a spring 2026 initiate of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated. Mark has previously participated in the 2025 MIT Design X Program. Outside of school, Mark enjoys watching movies, working out, volunteering, and tutoring. Mark intends to obtain a master’s degree in urbanism or a related field. Mark wants to use his education in architecture to revitalize communities, elevate quality of life, and create spaces that leave a positive enduring impact. He is dedicated to utilizing sustainable and innovative practice in his designs.
