Biography

Lina Alkarmi is a rising senior who studies electrical engineering with a concentration in communications and signal processing at George Mason University. Her research interests lie in information theory and wireless networks. Lina conducted uncertainty quantification research last summer in the MIT Summer Research Program (MSRP). She worked on developing a modern Bayesian filtering method for chaotic systems with Professor Youssef Marzouk in the Aeronautics and Astronautics department. At GMU, Lina is a research assistant in the SatCom/CubeSat lab, where her current independent research project focuses on developing a laser controller for space applications. Lina is dedicated to earning her PhD in electrical engineering to conduct research and mentor students. Lina is a highly motivated individual who puts maximum effort into her work and likes to help others.
