Biography

Keith Horne is a rising 5th-year undergraduate student at Rutgers University-New Brunswick, studying Materials Science and Engineering. He is a member of various organizations, including the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP), where he is an ambassador. Over the past year, Keith has been researching using computational materials modeling to study metal fracture mechanics at his university. His current research focuses on maximizing the strength of a heterogeneous-structured high entropy alloy using heat treatments. From these experiences, he has found a strong passion for research and plans to get his Ph.D. to develop and research better high-temperature alloys for aerospace applications. Keith has a drive to understand everything there is to know about the world around him and will continue to gather knowledge and inspire others to do the same.
