Biography
Ember Jones is a rising second-year scholar at North Carolina Central University (NCCU) majoring in political science and minoring in criminal justice. Ember is a Cheatham-White Scholar interested in American politics. He also is involved with the NCCU Mock Trial and Debate Team, Students in Public Service, and NCCU Political Science Club. His passions were sparked from a lifelong interest in the judicial system, and the relationship between the federal branches at large. His past experiences include conducting research on social media’s influence on public perception of the president, research on the effects of elitism in the Supreme Court clerkship process, and directed research on the motivations of protesters at protests in North Carolina. He believes that the effects of institutional and social inequities in American politics Ember hopes to pursue a PhD, potentially a JD-PhD, and then further research within political science and American politics either within academia or private research centers.
