Biography

César Díaz-Caraveo is a senior at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) majoring in mechanical engineering and minoring in computer science and mathematics. Born in raised in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico, César was always interested in pursuing a career in engineering and research and development (R&D), as well as the newly emerging space economy. He interned at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory last summer, working in thermal engineering and additive manufacturing. He has participated in various research projects, including materials physics simulating metal alloys and fluid modeling for thermal devices of interest for NASA. César is also very passionate about giving back to the community, serving as the president of the UTEP Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) chapter this past academic year. He plans to get a Ph.D. in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or materials science and work developing new space technologies in the years to come.
