Biography

Ayomide Olumide-Attah is a rising sophomore double majoring in Math and Computer Science at Fisk University. He’s armed with an immense background in computer science, creative problem solving, AI/ML, and quantum computing.

He joined the NSDC Explorer Transportation Data Science Project (TDSP) in January 2025, where he examined a dataset of over two million records of car crashes in NYC over twelve years. By performing several EDA tasks, building descriptive data visualizations, and conducting time series and geospatial analysis, he discerned insights that led to informed recommendations for the NYC Department of Transportation. In March 2025, he joined the BeyondQuantum: Introduction to Quantum and Research programme as one of 54 talented students, where he gained strong foundations in abstract linear algebra, quantum mechanics, and quantum computing, and spearheaded research on efficient methods for implementing quantum modular multiplication for Shor’s algorithm. Finally, last summer, he collaborated with teammates to build an AI-powered multifactor stock predictor in the 2025 AI4ALL Ignite Summer Program and underwent intensive training in developing quantum algorithms for solving Partial Differential Equations (PDE) in the 2025 WOMANIUM Quantum Summer Program, in which he participated on a full scholarship.

Besides his expertise in computing, Ayomide has a formidable background in advanced problem solving, with a particular zeal for competitive environments. He’s participated in several competition-level math contests over the past three years, including the 2023 Euclid Contest, hosted by the University of Waterloo, where he placed in the top 9.3%; the 2023 International Youth Mathematics Challenge (IYMC), where he was 3rd in the world (and 1st in his country); the 2024 IYMC, where he was 2nd in the US; and the 2024 and 2025 Putnam Competitions (he placed in the top 19% in the 2024 edition and in the top 15.5% in the 2025 edition).
