Biography

Angela Milo is a chemistry major at Harvey Mudd College, interested in organic synthesis, catalysis, and sustainable chemistry. She is motivated by the challenge of developing reactions that are not only efficient, but also environmentally responsible. At Harvey Mudd College, she explored greener solvent systems for use in teaching laboratory experiments. In the summer of 2025, she participated in the Leadership Alliance SR-EIP at Princeton University, where she worked on photothermal methods to degrade polymers. These experiences broadened her perspective on how chemistry can address pressing environmental challenges. She is currently conducting research at Pomona College, where she is developing enantioselective “click” reactions to access pharmaceutically relevant structures through sulfur-fluorine exchange chemistry. Beyond the lab, Angela is deeply committed to teaching and mentorship. She has worked as a teaching assistant and tutor, and values creating supportive learning environments where students can build confidence in their scientific abilities. Looking ahead, she plans to pursue a Ph.D. in chemistry and hopes to become a professor, combining her passions for research, teaching, and mentorship.
