Biography
Aamina Al-Yahia is a rising junior studying anthropology and politics, philosophy, economics, and law at the University of Florida with a minor in economics. Growing up in a very politically active and civically engaged household, she developed a passion early on for education and advocacy. Now on a pre-law track, Aamina is aiming to obtain her JD/PhD and enter academia. She hopes to leverage that space to help teach the future generation of lawmakers and changemakers how to truly think, thus safeguarding democratic structures and promoting a more positive future. At UF, Aamina is actively engaged in research as well as student policy initiatives. She enjoys working with teams to contribute to the betterment of her local community. Outside of academics, Aamina enjoys reading, going to art museums, and exploring Florida’s beautiful outdoors. She hopes to pursue and excel in many different fields to achieve her life-long goal of becoming a polymath.
