Biography
Garret S. Stand is a student at Gwinnett Technical College in Lawrenceville, Georgia, pursuing a dual major of Cybersecurity and Networking, graduating in December 2026. His prospects after graduation are continuing to further his education and immersion in research and academia, with research interests in the intersection of computer science and medicine, inter alia, and the penultimate desire to acquire a PhD or MD-PhD. The MIT Summer Research Program will be his first formal research experience, but he has an expanse of experience in computer science and information technology in non-academic environments; chiefly through his company, Stand Peters Holdings, LLC., offering IT and SWE services and consulting, amongst many other service offerings. He has had a lifelong passion—since the age of two—for computing and technology and likes to say he is a jack of many trades; and he has an ever-growing desire to push his passion and knowledge to the cutting-edge. Outside of academia, Garret enjoys graphic design, music (listening and playing), and is a common run-of-the-mill nerd at the end of the day.
