Leslie Sarpong is a rising sophomore student majoring in Medical Laboratory Science at Morgan State University with aspirations of becoming an anesthesiologist or cardiothoracic surgeon. Born in Ghana, Leslie moved to the United States during high school, an experience that shaped his perspective on education and opportunity. Adjusting to a new academic system has strengthened his determination to succeed in the medical field. Leslie is deeply interested in microbiology research, as well as cancer and stem cell research. He is motivated by the potential these fields hold in advancing medical knowledge and developing innovative treatments. Through his studies, he is building a strong foundation in both the scientific and analytical skills required to contribute meaningfully to research and his future career in medicine. Beyond academics, Leslie enjoys creative expression through poetry and crocheting. He finds poetry to be a powerful way to capture emotions and experiences, while crocheting offers a calming, hands-on outlet that allows him to create meaningful pieces from simple materials. These hobbies provide balance in his life, helping him stay grounded while pursuing his academic and career goals. With a long-term goal of attending medical school, Leslie is committed to continuous improvement, discipline, and curiosity.
