Biography

As a rising senior at the University of Minnesota, Khalid is pursuing a triple major in Economics, Political Science, and Philosophy. His passion lies at the intersection of social and data science. As a student researcher, he has enjoyed exploring cutting-edge methods to tackle complex questions in the realm of social science, nurturing his enthusiasm for harnessing techniques like machine learning and language modeling. His research interests revolve around salient topics such as energy economics, inflation targeting, price stability, opposition co-optation, and international legal institutions. Looking towards the future, Khalid’s plans include pursuing a JD combined with either a Ph.D. in Economics or Political Science. He is particularly enthusiastic about harnessing the potential of data science to drive evidence-based policymaking and inform progressive policies. By leveraging advanced techniques, Khalid aims to shape policies grounded in robust data analysis and insights, advocating for progress and the betterment of society.
