Biography

Jordan Lawton is a highly motivated, tenacious student and rising 5th-year senior who studies mechanical engineering and general science major on a dual degree track at the University of Michigan in partnership with Morehouse College. This summer, he is again conducting thermospheric density modeling research in the Aeronautics and Astronautics Department under Prof. Richard Linares and Dr. Peng Mun Siew. His interests are in designing machines and mechanisms that would be useful in the fields of rocket science, nanotechnology, astrophysics, and space engineering. He aspires to earn his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering to create a non-profit to share his knowledge and experiences with young, aspiring children who want to be in the STEM industry.
