Biography

Dominique is a rising junior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison majoring in neurobiology and minoring in Health Policy. Her experiences as a pediatric neurosurgery patient inspired her love for medicine, and she hopes to become a patient-turned-doctor one day. Presently, her research interests involve engineering drug delivery systems for treating neurological diseases. Dominique intends to obtain an M.D/Ph.D. and work within the clinic, research, and policy sectors as a physician-scientist. Dominique has a deep connection to her community and desires to utilize her background to improve the health and well-being of those within her community. Outside of school, Dominique is a foodie and enjoys cooking alongside her family. She’s especially popular for her gumbo recipe around the holidays. Dominique is also a pianist and enjoys improvising jazz, classical, Latin, and boogie-woogie music. Overall, Dominique lives her life to the fullest and looks forward to where her journey leads her.
