Biography

Originally from Minsk, Belarus, Angelina is a rising junior at Bryn Mawr College, majoring in Chemistry and Physics. She conducts research in Dr. Burgmayer’s group, focusing on synthesizing a model of the molybdenum cofactor to study its bioinorganic catalysis in metabolic processes. As a chemistry research assistant and co-president of the Bryn Mawr Society of Physics Students, she strives to bridge the gap between the physics and chemistry communities and foster interdisciplinary collaboration by bringing together diverse perspectives to address challenging research questions. Interested in developing electronic materials for medical devices, she intends to pursue a Ph.D. in materials science, aiming to improve healthcare accessibility by lowering the cost of medical technologies. At MIT, she works with Dr. Swager, focusing on synthesizing organic polymers for magneto-optical sensors. Outside the lab, Angelina can be found in a practice room, writing arrangements of her favorite songs for the violin and piano.
