International Students

AAUW International Fellowships are awarded for full-time study or research in the US to women who are not US citizens or permanent residents. Applicants must intend to return to their home country to pursue a professional career upon completion of their studies.

Aga Khan Foundation’s International Scholarship Programme (AKF ISP) is an opportunity for outstanding scholars from select developing countries, who have no other means of financing their studies, to pursue postgraduate education. Awards are structured as half grant and half loan – students will need to repay fifty percent of the award amount.

Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds (BIF) Foundation for Basic Research in Medicine PhD fellowships supports Europeans (defined geographically, see their FAQs for more details) studying both in Europe and overseas. Opens three times a year.

Margaret McNamara Educations Grants (MMEG) are awarded to women from developing countries who are pursuing their education with the aim of improving the lives of women and children in developing countries.

P.E.O International Peace Scholarship for non-U.S. or Canadian women working towards a graduate degree. Upon completion of their degree program, students are expected to return to their home countries to utilize their education to make a positive impact and foster global peace.

Schlumberger Foundation’s Faculty for the Future Fellowship for PhD Students in STEM are awarded to women from developing and emerging economies. Grant recipients are selected as much for their leadership capabilities as their scientific talents, and they are expected to return to their home countries to continue their careers and inspire other young women.
