Biography
Hailing from Ethiopia, Feven Naba is a rising senior studying Biomedical Engineering at Columbia University. Her primary focus lies in developing innovative diagnostic microfluidic tools, aiming to address the pressing issues of accessibility and affordability associated with healthcare in underserved communities. Feven has gained valuable research experience in various fields, such as biophysics, biomaterials, and fabrication of point-of-care microfluidic platforms. Beyond her academic pursuits, Feven is deeply committed to empowering women through education. As a result, she founded TECHIYALESH INITIATIVE, which offers mentorship and workshops to female students in Ethiopia pursuing STEM fields. In addition, Feven finds joy in reading poetry, playing soccer, engaging in one-on-one conversations, and cooking.
