Ivan Alexander Herrero Loza, a.k.a. Alex, is completing a Mechanical Engineering major and Visual Arts minor at the University of Puerto Rico: Mayagüez. His research at Mayagüez studies the effects of Immersive Media (VR/AR) on Human Centered Design. This experience has led him to conduct similar research at the University of Maryland: College Park and the MIT Media Lab. At the Media Lab he worked with the Fluid Interfaces group designing and testing a wearable camera for memory augmentation. Throughout his career, Alex developed a passion to make Immersive Media accessible which led him to create Visionary, one of the first organizations to bring VR/AR to Puerto Rican students, and Múkaro, a startup dedicated to connecting AR creators. Additionally, Alex enjoys storytelling, drawing, and cosplaying.
