After we moved from the Philippines to live in New Jersey, my family and I later moved to the Poconos before I started college at the University of Pittsburgh. As a student in the Civil and Environmental Engineering department, my research has focused on the morphodynamics of the Amazon River and on the water quality of Pittsburgh. Once I graduate, I will pursue a Ph.D. in environmental fluid mechanics and use my research in projects that restore waters to a more natural and sustainable state. Outside of academia, I enjoy nature, soccer, tennis, and music.
