Why did you decide to ENROLL at MIT for your graduate school?
MIT has the resources (monetary, faculty, staff and students) to pursue essentially anything in research. My group in particular provides a lot of academic freedom and I find this fulfilling.

What do you wish you would have known before deciding on MIT?
Coming into MIT, I wish I had been better prepared for the lack of diversity. It’s difficult entering spaces and being “the only” for a given part of my identity. This is a place where the community of URM students is important.

Graduate Student Groups/Organizations

Black Graduate Student Association (BGSA)
University Center for Exemplary Mentoring (UCEM)
