GCF Position: ISO Publicity & Outreach

As a graduate fellow for the International Student Office (ISO), I help with many programs and events for international and visiting students to help with their transition to the USA and MIT and give them the opportunity to meet other members of the community and connect with the rest of students. In addition, I help publicize events through design means to ensure a global promotion. I also collaborate with ISO’s social media, like facebook, instagram and slack channels among others.

How does your GCF project enhance the graduate student community?

My GCF projects contribution have helped international students in the Institute by connecting them with one another, offering advice for their academic and personal life and facilitating a space of community gathering. We make sure that every student that arrives is introduced to the community and connected with other peers that have been or are in their same situation, in order to link them with all MIT network, provide fun events and help them with any situation they might be in.

What is your favorite part of working in your GCF position?

My favorite part of working in my GCF position is getting to know all the people in the community and having the possibility to help other students like me.
