GCF Position: ICEO Programming & Events
Julie and I work together with the Institute Community and Equity Office (ICEO). For my project, I make event posters and other graphics for the gatherings that the ICEO hosts over the course of the year. Those events include MLK Visiting Scholars meet-ups, Storytelling Lunches, and Community Dialogues among others.
How does your GCF project enhance the graduate student community?
I think the ICEO best serves the MIT community when we get engagement from all over campus. The posters we make are designed to attract students, faculty and staff to attend our events so we can have more inclusive community participation.
What is your favorite part of working in your GCF position?
I really enjoy meeting new students, faculty and staff. I especially appreciate hearing from other students – it’s nice to know that there are some shared stories and experiences across the graduate student population. It’s also amazing to hear how passionate the graduate student community is on initiatives across the spectrum.
