I’m a GCF for Women’s Programs! I work with my co-fellows Bianca and Maddie to organize various programs to support and highlight the women graduate students at MIT! This includes the annual Path of Professorship workshop, as well as the Graduate Women of Excellence ceremony! We also organize smaller workshops around topics like Title IX, gender bias, and professional presentation.

How does your GCF project enhance the graduate student community?

I think a great example of how our work enhances the graduate student community at MIT is the Graduate Women of Excellence event, in which we recognize and highlight women who are not only outstanding scientists, but also leaders among their peers and dedicated to serving the MIT community. I think as scientists and engineers we are often recognized for our academic achievements, but I love that with this ceremony, we are able to highlight other aspects of graduate achievements, and to bring attention to the multitude of ways that graduate women at MIT are outstanding.

What is your favorite part of working in your GCF position?

Meeting all the amazing graduate women who come to our events! It’s so inspiring.
