Elizabeth “Liz” Gutenberg will join the Office of Graduate Education as Assistant Dean for GradSupport

The Office of Graduate Education is delighted to announce that Elizabeth “Liz” Gutenberg will join the Office of Graduate Education as Assistant Dean for GradSupport on November 22, 2021. Liz can be reached at guttenee@mit.edu.

Liz will join the GradSupport team in the core task of providing individual support to graduate students on matters related to academic and personal well-being. She will also liaise with departments and other offices that serve graduate students, and support graduate student-centered activities and programs.

Joining us most recently from MIT’s Center for WorkLife and WellBeing, Liz brings valuable knowledge of the Institute and our key stakeholders, as well as significant experience identifying resources for members of the MIT community. She has a strong background with consultative services, both through WorkLife and previous experience at Care.com. Liz also trained in social work and received her MSW from the University of Georgia, and has held clinical positions in family counseling and behavioral health.

Liz exudes kindness, and has always demonstrated an eagerness to support graduate students. Please join us in welcoming her to the team!
