hackNY Fellows Program, apply by Dec. 15

December 11, 2015

Now in its seventh year, the hackNY Fellows program invites talented undergraduate and grad students to experience is NYC’s tech community. Each fellow is paired with a paid technical internship at an exciting New York startup where they ship real code and contribute to impactful products. The fellows are provided housing together in the heart of Manhattan and attend a hackNY curated bi-weekly speaker series which includes informal talks by CEOs and founders of major companies, venture capitalists, media and legal experts, and tech pioneers in public service. Other activities include mixers and events with local technologists and exploring the city with friends. The recent Class of 2015 along with their startups is displayed here, and a recap of last summer (including the full schedule of speakers) is shown here on our blog.

After graduation from the program, the Fellows go on to be great members of the startup community and our tight-knit community of AlumNY. Many of the AlumNY have been hired full time by their hackNY startups, where they play key roles in engineering and leadership. hackNY Fellows have been matched with startups like Buzzfeed, MongoDB, Etsy, Business Insider, Foursquare, Kickstarter, Tumblr, Venmo, and Meetup. This year’s Fellowship will run from May 30 through August 5. The final application deadline is  Tuesday, December 15. In applications, coding skill, enthusiasm for learning outside the classroom, and involvement in school and local communities are all things looked for. See hackny.org for more information, and email info@hackny.org with any questions!
