student volunteers to tutor in ESL

The MIT English as a Second Language Program for Service Employees is looking for volunteers to tutor night shift employees for 1–2 hrs per week, or to serve as substitutes as needed for the Fall semester that runs from Sep. 28–Dec. 11, 2015.

No experience is required, just a good command of English and an interest in helping individuals whose first language is not English. The goals of the program are to build the language learner’s confidence, to help them become more productive in their jobs, and to perhaps open up further opportunities for advancement.

Tutoring takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 pm–midnight, beginning Sep. 28.

This is an opportunity to make a real and positive difference. Please contact esl-admins@mit.edu for details. Read more about the program’s history. Photo: Melanie Golnick.
