On Wednesday, March 11th at 4 pm, attend an exciting lecture in 66-144 with Dr. Mahdi Zarghami (Tufts University and University of Tabriz, Iran). In arid and semi-arid regions, lakes are subject to a high risk of drying, leading to deterioration of water quality and creation of wind-blown dust. Are engineering solutions sufficient to solve this critical problem or are better institutional design and more effective water governance needed? Dr. Zarghami will discuss the current condition of the Urmia Lake, Iran, and introduce a simulation model based on System Dynamics approach. More information can be found on the MIT Water Club website. Photo by Adam.
