As part of the Institute for Medical Engineering and Science (IMES) Distinguished Speaker Series, Rebecca Richards-Kortum of Rice University will speak at MIT on Thursday, April 17th, 2014 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm in MIT Room 3-270. She is the Stanley C. Moore Professor of Bioengineering at Rice University. Her work focuses on translating research that integrates advances in nanotechnology and molecular imaging with microfabrication technologies to develop optical imaging systems that are inexpensive, portable, and provide point-of-care diagnosis.
