Develop Communication Skills with Dr. Jean-luc Doumont on Feb. 14 and 15

Due to popular demand, Dr. Jean-luc Doumont is returning to teach two seminars concerning vital presentation and writing skills. Dr. Doumont specializes in professional speaking, writing, and graphing; he holds an engineering degree from the Université Catholique de Louvain and a doctorate in applied physics from Stanford University. His first seminar, entitled Make the Most of Your Presentation, takes place on Thursday, February 14 in 54-100; this will cover all the skills needed to deliver effective presentations. His second, entitled Structuring Your Scientific Paper, continues on Friday, February 15 in 32-123 (Kirsch Auditorium). This presentation based on Dr. Doumont’s book Trees, Maps, and Theorems focuses on how to grab the reader’s attention and optimize the message in scientific writing. Both events last from 2 to 4 pm, and no reservations are required.
