Two EECS doctoral students Sertac Karaman and Michael Rubinstein were awarded the 2011 NVDIA Graduate Fellowship. Mr. Karaman works under the supervision of Prof. Emilio Frazzoli of the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics and his recently was recently highlighted in the MIT News Article, “Smarter Robot Arms.” Michael Rubinstein works in computer vision with Prof. William T. Freeman. His research interests are in the areas of image and video analysis, motion analysis and computational photography and video. He is interested in utilizing parallel computing for efficient large-scale inference on massive graphical models typical to video and high definition imagery.
